YOUR 12 MONTH MARKETING CALENDAR!

What does your marketing calendar look like in July? How about November? How about next January? Unfortunately, most of you will say "I don't know!" If your practice is where you want it to be, then just keep doing what you're doing. If you want it to grow, then just copy the practice you want to emulate.
Weekly practice volume in a corrective care practice can be predicted by multiplying your monthly new patient volume by 8-12. See 5 new patients per month and you are probably seeing about 30-50 patient visits per week. If you want to see 300+ patient visits per week, then you need to be processing at least 25-30 new patients per month.
All practices that see any significant volume have a 12 month marketing calendar. You should have at least one promotion scheduled EVERY WEEK! ...and I don't mean a yellow pages ad, or an insurance referral book (that is a whole different newsletter)! A solid practice is a refection of its diversified marketing.
Here is what my marketing plan would look like for your practice:
Monthly promotions:
* January - New Year's Health Checkup * February - Valentine's Day Doctors with a Heart * March - St. Patrick's Day - 17 NP on the 17th for $17 * April - Easter Celebration with baskets for the kids * May - Free Mothers Day Checkup for Moms with a Rose for each * June - Free Fathers Day Checkup for Dads with a Gift for each * July - Independence From Hunger Food Drive * August - School Supply Drive * September - Back to School Backpack Safety Checks * October - Fall Harvest/Halloween Patient Appreciation Day * November - Thanksgiving Food Drive * December - Toys for Tots Toy Drive
In addition, I would give out 2 referral cards to EVERY patient EVERY two weeks, hold at least one monthly in office workshop/lecture and one outside the office, have weekly patient handouts, do weekly mailings of our pediatric newsletter to the daycare centers and schools in the area, hold a quarterly Patient Appreciation Day, and run my Killer Ad in the newspaper. Whew! The best part is that most of these things are almost FREE to implement.
